About Us - Qualifications to Join NGAA

Our Mission

The National General Adjusters Association(TM) was founded in Los Angeles in 1991 upon the premise to afford its members the opportunity to meet and learn from other General Adjusters. Newsletters and seminars provides information about new forms and trends within the insurance industry. NGAA is involved in setting industry claim standards to be educational and helpful in pursuing higher ethics and skills in property adjusting above the expected.

NGAA was founded under a California non-profit charter in Los Angeles in 1991 by R.L. Stinchcomb, founder and President of Golden State Insurance Adjusters of California,an author, training mgr, and Home Office Claim Director handling high profile commercial losses thru-out 32 states. He later became a General Adjuster with such carriers as Fireman's Fund, Farmers Ins Grp, Kemper, Safeco, Transamerica, Meridian Ins and GAB/Robins, and now operates a Midwest claim consulting firm. NGAA was founded to recognize only qualified property adjusters working with primarily commerical risks. No CAT adjusters will be considered where their primary business involves CAT adjusting.
